The year 2025 is an exciting and defining moment as Zanzibaris prepare to make their choices on who will be entrusted with the social contract for the next five years.

As a youth organization committed to promoting democracy, youth inclusion, and active participation, ZAFAYCO is proud to announce that we have been officially accredited by the Zanzibar Electoral Commission (ZEC) to provide voter education throughout the year.

This accreditation allows us to lead sensitization efforts on all stages of the electoral process — before, during, and after the elections — ensuring that voters, especially young voters, are informed and empowered.

With youth making up over 37% of Zanzibar’s population — many of them first-time voters — we recognize the urgent need to equip young people with the knowledge, confidence, and tools they need to make their voices count at the ballot box and beyond.

At ZAFAYCO, we believe in preparing youth not only as voters but as active choice-makers and champions of democracy, ready to shape a brighter, more participatory, and inclusive Zanzibar.
